Dead over heels - not your everyday ghost story

'Dead over heels' is a short story written by Theresa Braun.
I came upon it a couple of weeks ago and from the first pages it felt like a story with magic and ghosts.
A little romance with a sprinkle of Wicca magic which moves slowly into the ghost territory and finishes into full-blown horror story.
I must admit I was not convinced by the whole magic factor since it seemed a little stretched. Or the ghostly seeings.
But the whole idea of the book, once you finish it, it is surprisingly good.
With a little more details and polish it would have been an excellent story, one that I would have put easily alongside my collection of H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe stories.
Still, a must read if horror story lovers. For its ending which is one of the best I read in a long time.

I've been reading Molly Harper's books for over ten years now and she never ceases to surprise me. She has an incredible sense of humor and a knack to build interesting female and male characters that will keep me engaged throughout each of her books. The first book I read was 'Nice girls don't have fangs' and I connected instantly with the main character who is a librarian that gets turned into a vampire after the town drunk idiot mistakes her for a deer while walking home, shots her and lets her to die on the side of the road. While Molly's first and most famous series is concentrated around vampires, now she decided to go into a different direction: dragons! 'How to date your dragon' was a great surprise, not only for the change of subjects but because I decided to purchase it as an audio book. I can only say that this added an extra flavor to the book. Most people come to Vienna to shop. Or to visit the Christmas market and the museums. Whatever the reasons Vienna is full to the brim with tourists from all over the world in any given day. Are Austrians happy with it? Not so much since they are not the warmest people on the planet. Still, tourists support the economy. Vienna has a ton of attractions. Everywhere you turn, there is a palace. The buildings in the city center are a couple of centuries old. Architecture is amazing if you stick to the center. The rest of the city is just like any other one, crowded, noisy and not so spectacular. The city center, especially the Ring which is in fact the old city, is a very nice place to visit.
